Collection: Raúl Velasco

Raúl Velasco is an artist steeped in the popular printmaking tradition of his homeland, Mexico. He dares to defend the idea of popular art accessible to all, which requires a certain courage in a city like Paris... In his work, self-mockery rhymes with eroticism, and social awareness with inventive technical processes. For in each etching, he invents a method: plates cut and superimposed or welded together for a single pass, etchings assembled with wooden plates - anything goes, as long as it passes under the press.
